Canada is planning to reopen its borders to fully vaccinated international travellers on Tuesday, September 7.
That means that short-term language students will be able to come to IGK without having to apply for a study permit or stay in quarantine.
All travellers will still need to use the ArriveCAN app to show proof of vaccination and other criteria before they arrive in Canada.
Colleges and universities across Canada will also be fully open in September. International students planning to come for programs longer than 6 months will need to have a study permit.
Stay tuned for more good news coming soon. Please contact your regional representative or info@igcanada.com for specific information about travelling to Canada.
As of July 6, international students who are fully vaccinated, have a valid study permit and test negative for COVID will not have to quarantine or stay in a government-authorized hotel when they arrive in Canada. To be considered fully vaccinated, students must show proof that they have had two shots of one of the following approved vaccines:
All international travellers will still need to do a COVID test 72 hours before coming to Canada, do a second test upon arrival and have a quarantine plan ready in case they test positive.
There are no changes to Canada’s quarantine process for travellers who are not fully vaccinated.
